![]() Their increased activity (as said in game) was never explained. And keep in mind, I’m just purely speculating here, but…ĭevourerers were invading from “somewhere”, the In-Between or where ever else. Well I think Decay was already on the chart. Any thoughts are where things could be headed? I also wonder if Blizzard has some kind of plan with Decay, since it has been so absent and undefined for so long, only to make a very visible appearance now. I hope its role in Shamanism is elaborated more on. I wonder most if this will change existing lore that suggest the defining property of a Dark Shaman is that they can force the elements to obey by using Decay as the “unifying” element instead of Spirit (or Wilds, as it was in the older lore). Blizzard seems be attaching a very rot/sickness/disease theme to Decay, whereas before it was a bit more conceptual. One might be tempted to think that Blizzard is just tossing around the word decay to mean “a magic that is causing decay” like they sometimes do with magic, but the existence of the the Decay-themed crafting items alongside other elements seems to imply this is indeed intentional. This is most prominent in the Azure Span, where Gnoll tribes have discovered the magic are rotting and destroying just about everything, including themselves. ![]() As some may have noticed, Blizzard is once again acknowledging the existence of Decay magic (the specific element/force of nature on the cosmic charts, not as a broad concept of decay, mind you). ![]()
